In 2012 three Penn State alums asked themselves, "How do we raise funds and awareness for a cause like pediatric cancer but have fun doing it?"

And so, in January 2013, the first ever Dance for a Cure commenced. Throughout the evening event there were different dance styles taught, bids made in the silent auction, shout-outs to local Lehigh Valley business, and, most importantly, the crowd learned about children and families affected by pediatric cancer. A modest $1,300+ was raised that night but the alums knew they had created something special.

Nearly 10 years and 10 events later we have raised a total of $59,582. We are gearing up for our 11th annual event and, while it may look different this time around, the call for hope remains the same.

Make a difference in the life of a child.

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THONTM
This year we are taking action by encouraging alumni throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley to host events, encourage employer sponsorship and make personal contributions to THON.

THON's year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.

Since 1977, THON has raised over $168 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. THON's mission is to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
