Join us in honoring the beautiful life of Rachel Benowich, a passionate and fearless fighter whose life was taken from us all way too soon.

Rachel graduated from Penn State as a member of Sigma Delta Tau in 2014 with the ambition to help the community around her. Soon after graduating nursing school, Rachel was diagnosed with brain cancer. Despite the monstrosity of her diagnosis, Rachel was determined to live life to the fullest. She helped those in need, she traveled to Europe and she spent time with her loving parents, siblings, boyfriend and friends from all over. She loved adventures, movies, Broadway music and Camp Starlight. Rachel lived out her dream of becoming a nurse and even applied for her Masters Degree.

Rachel was a do-er and cancer could not hold her back. In Rachel’s honor, we strive to spread acts of kindness, as she did for so many – she inspires us to continue the fight against pediatric cancer through THON, and throughout the rest of our lives.

Thon has held a special place in the Benowich’s hearts for years. Following in her big sister’s footsteps, Sabrina, Rachel’s younger sister also became actively involved with the Four Diamonds Foundation. In 2018, Sabrina danced for 46 hours, standing up to cancer and supporting her sister’s fight. One day we will dance in celebration, until then, we dance for a cure. Join us in our efforts to support children in their fight against cancer - for the fight, for the cure, for the kids, for Rachel always.
