Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
THON is a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon held every February to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. As a part of my organization benefitting THON, I am working alongside 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni to support more than 4,000 families at Penn State Children’s Hospital to one day end the fight against childhood cancer.
Before coming to Penn State I knew I wanted to be a part of THON. In my freshman year, I joined a Dancer Relations Committee. Through this role I supported dancers physically, emotionally, and mentally all throughout THON weekend. I was a Dancer Relations Committee Member for my sophomore year as well. These committees and THON gave me a sense of community at Penn State as I was working with likeminded people who all are fighting for a cure for childhood cancer.
This year I am excited and honored to say that I have been given the opportunity to give back to THON as a Special Events Captain! I am ready to give back to THON community with more hard work, dedication, and love.
As we begin to TraverSE New Frontiers during this unusual year with COVID-19, our fight to one day dance in celebration is a constant throughout. Our mission doesn't stop. We are prepared to conquer new challenges, think out of the box, and most importantly, show the world what cancer cannot do. With your support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the lives of children and their families who are affected by cancer. I truly appreciate any support you provide, either by making a donation or by sharing my page on social media to spread THON’s mission. Join us in the fight, For The Kids.
