I THON for Morgan and Carman, who are SPSEA's amazing THON families. I also THON for all of the families and friends whose lives have been impacted by pediatric cancer, along with those who are unable to THON. I THON for my future students, so they can have the chance to become a Nittnay Lion someday! I am fundraising on behalf of SPSEA (Student Pennsylvania State Education Association), to help raise money funding research and treatments in hopes for a cure.
How We Help
Every school day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer...But 16,500 student volunteers are working to change that. The funds raised by THON make it possible to fund critical research in pursuit of a cure for pediatric cancer. SPSEA Benefitting THON raises money for more private hospital rooms for a child and their family, more wigs for the patient who has lost his or her hair, more hours of research, more hours of nutritional therapy, and more hours of psychological counseling, along with more hours of music therapy for the kids.
Throughout my involvement with SPSEA, I am committed to spreading THON's mission even further in 2021. This year I am the primary THON Chair for SPSEA, which means that I am responsible for all THON events, fundraisers, and activities leading up to THON for the entire Penn State SPSEA organization. I am also so excited and honored to announce that I will represent SPSEA as a dancer in THON 2021, Rise and Unify! On February 19-21st, Kate Lewis and I will be participating in the 46-hour no-sleeping, no-sitting dance marathon as SPSEA's two dancers to raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer.
Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON. This year, I am taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Throughout the year, I will be fundraising to benefit THON in an effort to provide outstanding financial and emotional support and spread THON’s mission world-wide. It is my hope that one day, every child will have the opportunity to live out their dreams.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
I truly appreciate any support you provide, either by making a donation or by sharing my page on social media to spread THON’s mission.
