Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.

My name is Megan Perillo, I am a rising senior at Penn State majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and this year I am so excited to be the Overall Family Relations Chair for Pi Kappa Alpha Theta serving as the main liaison between our greek-life partnership and our three amazing THON families (the Bakers, the Zepps, and the Inches)! Throughout my time at Penn State, I have been involved in an OPPerations THON committee for two years, Donor and Alumni Relations committee for one year as a Stewardship Chair, and in my sorority and fraternity partner's THON efforts.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, Penn State "Canners" on the side of the road were my idols. These dedicated, proud, and spirited individuals drove my passion to attend Penn State, where I dreamed of following in their footsteps. Now that I am here, I have taken it upon myself to obtain leadership roles in THON to lead the fight against childhood cancer while also dedicating my studies to the same battle. Majoring in Biomedical Engineering, I hope to combine my knowledge and passion in this field to develop safer, more effective treatments so that kids can be kids without ever having to think about cancer. I aspire to do everything within my power to conquer this fight.

Getting to know our three four diamonds families better over the past couple of years, the reality of cancer has hit closer to home and it has become clear that cancer is blind, ugly, and unforgiving. In pursuit of finding a cure so that families like these beautiful families never have to deal with cancer again, please consider donating to my page-- for Jazzy, for Dylan, for Levi-- FTK

One day we will dance in celebration, for now we dance for a cure.

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON. This year, I am taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.

Throughout the year, I will be fundraising to benefit THON in an effort to provide outstanding financial and emotional support and spread THON’s mission world-wide. It is my hope that one day, every child will have the opportunity to live out their dreams.

Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.

I truly appreciate any support you provide, either by making a donation or by sharing my page on social media to spread THON’s mission.
