Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
I first became involved with THON last year. When I first joined, I didn't know much about THON except that it was a student run philanthropy that raises money to find a cure to pediatric cancer. After attending my first THON last February, I learned that it was so much more than raising money. It is about coming together with every Penn State campus and standing up against this terrible disease. Everything we do is for the kids! Knowing that all of the kids were dancing at the Bryce Jordan Center as a result of all of our hard work was very heartwarming. This January, I got selected to represent Penn State Scranton as one of four dancers at THON weekend. I am extremely grateful and stoked to be able to represent my campus. I am dancing for all the people I have known who battled/ are battling cancer and Arelis in hopes that we can end cancer. No one should ever have to face this alone. 🎗💛

Messages we left on a corkboard at THON 2019
This year, I decided I wanted to be more involved in THON, so I decided to fulfill a position on the E- board. I am a major event captain with my friend Holly. I help at our fundraisers such as the pasta dinner and Trivia Night and am in charge of planning our biggest fundraiser, Purse Bingo. Holly and I have dedicated countless hours organizing this event and I know it will be a success! I am so glad I was given the opportunity to be a part of this organization and can't wait to see and hear about all the lives we have impacted. Help all of us at Penn State Scranton reach our fundraising goal. There is no such thing as a small donation! A donation is a donation no matter the amount. All donations are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
Our Pasta Dinner Fundraiser was a huge success!A picture of me with Arelis and her sister. Arelis is our THON child <3
