Raising Money So Every Cub Can Become a Future Lion!
Hello! My name is Emma Brown and I am one of the THON chairs for Penn State Club Volleyball. THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by pediatric cancer. Each year, the Men's and Women's Club Volleyball teams join together in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Club Volleyball has two THON families, the Mehalick's and the Patterson's. Makenzie Mehalick was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during her freshman year of high school but being the tough, fearless person she is, kicked cancer's butt and has been in remission now for several years. Maggie Patterson is our beloved THON angel who passed away four years ago. Her twin sister, Katie, is still very much involved in THON and loves coming each year to remember her sister!
This year I have the privilege of being a dancer for THON 2020 through the Club Volleyball team. Please help me in my efforts to end childhood cancer by donating to THON! I truly appreciate any support you provide, either by making a donation or by sharing my page on social media to spread THON’s mission!
