Make an impact in the life of a child today

When you decide to support THON™, you become a partner in the ongoing fight against childhood cancer. As part of the Special Events Committee benefitting THON, I am working alongside 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni to support more than 4,000 families at Penn State Children’s Hospital to one day end the fight against childhood cancer.  Since THON’s beginning in 1973, we have raised over $168 million dollars, For The Kids™!

As a freshman this year, I knew that I wanted to get involved on campus. I personally didn't want to play sports or join a club just so that I felt like I was doing something. I wanted to do something that wasn't about ME. I had heard of THON before and had been told stories about it, but never truly knew what THON was all about. I decided to do some intense research, learning everything I could about THON before applying for (and becoming a part of) the Special Events Committee. This year, I am taking action in the fight against childhood cancer. Throughout the year, I am fundraising on behalf of my committee benefitting THON to offset the costs of treatment that insurance cannot cover, expenses that improve the welfare of kids, and fund critical research in pursuit of finding a cure. Through my work with THON and fundraising, I hope to lessen the burden of those affected by childhood cancer and so that one day no parent has to be told "your child has cancer."Each and every one of your contributions mean so much to me and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your contribution will fund innovative research that will not only enhance treatment for children in Pennsylvania but is also giving hope to childhood cancer patients worldwide! Together, with every student, volunteer, alumnus, donor, and supporter, we can spread awareness of THON’s mission across the country and throughout the world. With your support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the lives of children nationwide. Join us in the fight, For the Kids.
