Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.

This year,  I will be fundraising as an Independent Dancer with Zach Koenigsberg For The Kids and for a chance to dance in THON 2020. We have been highly involved in THON through our fraternity since our freshman year and wanted to increase our dedication during our senior year at Penn State. Penn State THON is the largest student run philanthropy event in the world and has raised more than $168 million in order to fight childhood cancer and has helped more than 4,000 Four Diamonds families since 1977. Four Diamonds ensures that families never see a bill and covers all of their expenses so their main concern can be their child. They are also a leader in cancer research. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure. My goal this year is to have the honor to dance for 46 hours. Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON.

One of my favorite parts of THON has been the connection I have made to my fraternity's THON family, the Arevalos, over the past 3 years. Ryan is 12 years old and will officially be cancer free on June 1st, 2020, 5 years after beating brain cancer. Ryan has taught me to always be positive no matter what obstacles you may face. It has been amazing to see Ryan get strong enough to start wrestling, which has been a dream of his. I THON for kids like Ryan so that one day there will be a cure for childhood cancer and they, too, can achieve their dreams.

Throughout the year, I will be fundraising to benefit THON in an effort to provide outstanding financial and emotional support and spread THON’s mission world-wie. It is my hope that one day, every child will have the opportunity to live out their dreams. THON raises money for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funds critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.

Zach and I have been working tirelessly all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON Weekend 2020. Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friends and family, obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.

I truly appreciate any support you provide, either by making a donation or by sharing my page on social media to spread THON’s mission.
