Make an impact in the life of a child today

When you decide to support THON™, you become a partner in the ongoing fight against childhood cancer. As part of my organization benefitting THON, I am working alongside 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni to support more than 3,700 families at Penn State Children’s Hospital to one day end the fight against childhood cancer.  Since THON’s beginning in 1973, we have raised over $146 million dollars, For The Kids™!

I am taking action in the fight against childhood cancer, today and every day. For the past three years I have had the opportunity to participate in THON with my sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma. Two years ago for the THON season I had the absolutely incredible opportunity to be a THON chair for my organization. This has been one of the most rewarding positions I have had the honor of being in. It is so sad to say that the National Cancer Institute budgets only 4% of funding for childhood cancer, despite it being one of the leading causes of death by disease in children. We work effortlessly to try to increase that percentage and give these families what they need.

Owen Bonn struggles day in and day out with retinoblastoma, which is cancer of the eye, but him and his family are nothing but positive through it all. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to work so closely with such an amazing, happy-go-lucky family. Being able to raise money for families that need it and seeing the smiles on their faces is what makes it so special. Please take some time to watch this video showing a little bit about the Bonn's!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_zHUaDC6bw

Throughout the year, I am fundraising on behalf of my organization benefitting THON to offset the costs of treatment that insurance cannot cover, expenses that improve the welfare of kids, and fund critical research in pursuit of finding a cure. I am committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer as well as building lasting relationships with the Four Diamonds families, and it is my hope that one day every child has the opportunity to live out their childhood dreams.

Your contribution will fund innovative research that will not only enhance treatment for children in Pennsylvania but is also giving hope to childhood cancer patients worldwide! Together, with every student, volunteer, alumnus, donor, and supporter, we can spread awareness of THON’s mission across the country and throughout the world. With your support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the lives of children nationwide. Join us in the fight, For The Kids. The smile I get to put on this little boy's face is the reason I work in the fight of finding a cure for childhood cancer.
