Help Becky and Lauren Dance in THON 2020!

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON. This year, we are taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.

Our THON Story

Our journey began when we attended our first THON weekend together in 2012. It was the immense joy and sorrow of this experience that ignited our passion for the mission of THON. Although we were too young to be directly involved at the time, we were compelled to find another way to help. So, we attempted to start a miniTHON at our high school and spread awareness about this amazing cause for which we felt so strongly. Our passion only grew stronger as we faithfully attended THON every year as high school students. After graduation, we were both lucky enough to be admitted to Penn State. Finally, our THON involvement had changed from enthusiastic observers in the stands to dedicated volunteers of the philanthropy. Over the last four years, we have been collectively involved by acting as THON committee members, by fundraising through our own individual organizations, and by serving as an organization's Family Relations chair. Last year, we really wanted make a more personal impact, so we decided to enter the Independent Dancer lottery system as an “Independent Dancer Couple”, giving us the chance to achieve our dreams of dancing in THON. Although luck was not on our side in regard to being selected as dancers, our fortune was collectively raising over $7,500! We are now seniors!! This is our last opportunity to make a difference as Penn State students, and we hope to achieve the mutual goal that we have shared since we were 13. We would love to surpass our fundraising from last year as Independent Dancers and, just maybe, be fortunate enough to earn our way onto the floor as dancers. Please consider helping us dance in THON 2020, FTK; we truly appreciate any support!
