Support Me
One day we will dance in celebration. Until then we will dance for a cure.

Join Penn State THON in our mission to cure childhood cancer. THON is the world's largest student-run philanthropy, having raised over $167 million dollars since 1977. This year I am joined in the fight by 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters.  Every year in February, our efforts culminate in our namesake 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. THON's sole beneficiary, the Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital ensures that over 4,000 families will never see a medical bill from their child's treatment and funds critical research that benefits children and families all over the world.

My Journey

Since THON 2018, I have been a member of THON Technology, a committee dedicated  providing technical solutions to help further THON’s mission of conquering childhood cancer. Our software provides vital functionality that enables THON to spread its mission, raise funds, and host events at scale.

THON 2018 Technology Committee

For THON 2018, I was a Dash developer and I worked along with my co-Captains to create the THON Weekend Dashboard, a tool that handles the logistics of securely hosting over 50,000 spectators during THON Weekend.  The Dash team's efforts help to ensure a safe environment for the children and families that attend the event and also ensures that the families and friends of dancers can give their support on the floor in a timely and organized manner.

For THON 2019, I served as the THINK Project Manager.  THINK, or the THON Information NetworK, tracks and manages all of the logistics required to raise $10 million annually while coordinating 16,500 full-time students.  The THINK team's work allows the 15 other THON Committees as well as the hundreds of Penn State student Organizations to complete their work and track their fundraising efforts efficiently and seamlessly.

Now for THON 2020, I am honored to serve as the Technology Director and embrace the opportunity to shape the future of THON.  As a member of the Executive Committee I serve with 16 other Directors in making decisions about THON's direction.  As the Technology Director I lead a team of 20 dedicated Captains who create the tools and platforms that continue to allow THON to be the world's largest student-run philanthropy.

See the Magic

Being a part of THON and experiencing THON Weekend can only really be described as "magical".  For 46 hours, the burdens of cancer don't exist for the children and families in the Bryce Jordan Center and everyone, no matter how old, is free to be a kid again.  Below are a few videos that I hope will give you a small window into the magic of THON.
