We do not need Magic to transform the world... We carry all the power we need inside us Already.

When I was 11 years old, I donated 17 inches of my hair to be turned into a wig for cancer patients. Although it was very much my mom's idea, I was on board as much as a child can be. Once I did though, I was really embarrassed to go to school because I was practically bald. My dad made me understand that my hair would grow back. He said, "If hair is such a huge part of your self-image, imagine how happy it would make someone who, in addition to all the terrible side-effects of cancer treatment, has lost their's". From that moment on, I realized that the gratification of donating my hair would always dwarf the momentary shame I experienced.

3 months after donating my hair when I'd finally go out without a hat

Every year, THON raises about $10,000,000 which provides financial and emotional support to the Four Diamond families. This amount is also used to fund research in Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The yearlong fundraising effort, comprising 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters, culminates in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February. Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families. We not only celebrate our little fighters and pay homage to brave ones that dwell in our hearts, but also ignite hope that one day cancer cannot! ・:*:・゚☆This year, I have the incredible opportunity to fight against childhood cancer by being an Independent Dancer Couple with Olivia. Before I even came to Penn State, I wanted to dance for THON but in my 3 year journey, I realized that there is so much more to it. I want to stand for 46 hours in salute for all the brave warriors and fallen heroes. I want to  stand for 46 hours so that no family feels that they’re alone. I want to stand for 46 hours so no mother has to hear the words “your child has cancer” ever again. I want to make a difference. ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙

Let us take a moment to remember all that we have to be thankful for and do our little parts to make this world a better place: a place where every child's dreams come true. Join me in this fight against childhood cancer by either by donating or by sharing my page on social media.

One day we will dance in celebration, until then we dance for a cure 🎗️
