MAKE A DONATION

Make a difference in the life of a child today

Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THON. Apollo is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised over $204 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,800 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.

Apollo fundraises year-round in the commitment to put an end to childhood cancer! Our organization supports our wonderful Four Diamonds families, the Mummerts, the Sanchezes, and the Yohes, who are constant reminders of why we Never Give Up!

Meet Our Four Diamonds Families:

The Noah Mummert Family

When Noah Mummert isn't watching a Marvel movie, playing with his cats, or playing video games, you can find him making great memories with some Apollo members! Noah is 16 years old and celebrated being 12 years cancer-free after beating his Wilms Tumor. The rest of Noah's family consists of his mom, Kathy, his dad, Ed, and his older brother, Ben. Noah is also a huge animal lover and enjoys animal therapy at a farm nearby his house (we've met many horses and cats on FaceTime with Noah during these visits). We plan many events throughout the year with the Mummerts, but the most notable is Noah-hawks. At Noah-hawks, Noah and the boys of Apollo all shave their hair into mohawks right before THON weekend! Apollo members love watching Marvel movies, playing virtual games, and taking trips to Dave and Buster's with Noah and the Mummert family.

The Devanhi (Dev) Sanchez Family

The Apollo Family also includes the Devanhi Sanchez Family. In May 2013 at the age of 2, Devanhi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, but as of November 2023, she will be 10 years cancer-free! Dev is from Hanover, PA and in the 7th grade. Dev loves playing the violin, and her black cat Stormy as well as her cute but crazy puppy, Charlie. When she's hanging out with her Apollo friends, you will rarely find her with her feet on the ground as she is always being carried around, but when she is, a dance party is most likely already in motion with her in the center of it!

The Maddie Yohe Family

Apollo is fortunate enough to have been paired with the Yohe family since 2019. We had an amazing time getting to know Maddie, Isabelle, and Sarah at THON 2020! Maddie was known for her love of cheer, Harry Potter, and The Flash. Some of our favorite days include those where we got to Zoom with Maddie and Isabelle and got to play games during the Apollo Game Show. In June 2021, our beautiful warrior crossed the rainbow bridge and became our THON angel. Maddie truly embodied the 'Never Give Up' spirit and always stayed true to herself. Even through her toughest times, she would not be afraid to give us sass if we disagreed with her. Her spirit is carried with each member of Apollo as we are reminded why we NGU.

To help Maddie's spirit live on, we have created "Moment for Maddie" cards that can be picked up from the Apollo office in the HUB. These cards help spread not only her story but also some happiness into the world.

We also bond with Maddie's family and have many events and experiences to strengthen our bond with each of the family members. Isabelle has just turned 16 and tells us all of her high school drama, Emme is rocking Pre-K and learning to read at 4 years old, and Sarah loves sharing her mug collection with us and updating us on all of her crazy stories.

Your support will make an immeasurable difference in the lives of children and families!

  • Provide Emotional & Financial Support by offsetting the costs of treatment that insurance cannot cover.
  • Fund Innovative Research that will not only enhance treatment for children in Pennsylvania but is giving hope to families worldwide.
  • Spread Awareness of THON's mission across the country and throughout the world.

Together, we can make a difference.

We will Never Give Up in the fight against pediatric cancer, and we THON for Maddie, Dev, and Noah:

For The Kids!
