Hi! We are Devon Kelly and Natalie Rentzel and we are registered as an Independent Dancer Couple (IDC) for THON 2023. For those of you who aren’t familiar with THON, THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON’s mission is to raise money to support childhood cancer. THON has raised over $200 million since 1977, and the fundraising goes to both families to help cover medical costs for their child battling cancer and towards cancer research. Fundraising efforts lead up to THON weekend, which is a 46 hour ‘dance marathon’ in which students cannot sit or sleep for the whole duration of the weekend. We do this to show support and stand for the children who can’t. THON is an incredible organization that fosters a strong community among Penn State students and unites us under the common goal of curing cancer. We have always been involved with THON, but wanted to take it a step further for THON 2023. As a dancer couple, we are raising money on our own in the hopes of making a significant impact on THON’s total fundraising. We hope to qualify and be chosen as dancers in the upcoming THON weekend to show our support, admiration, and dedication to THON’s mission. Devon Kelly and Natalie Rentzel (2023) have been working tirelessly all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON Weekend 2023. Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friend and family, obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.
