MAKE A DONATIONGrowing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
Every three minutes a family hears the words, “Your child has cancer.” That is nearly 18,000 families each year. Despite this disheartening statistic, there are more than 16,500 student volunteers taking action in the fight against pediatric cancer by participating in the largest student-run philanthropy in the world: Penn State’s THON. With your help, we can continue taking strides towards finding a cure. THON is a year-long fundraising and awareness campaign committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by pediatric cancer. These efforts culminate every February in a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. Our sorority supports THON by fundraising and supporting children and their families throughout their lifelong journey with cancer.
Our sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, is an organization of dedicated members that are committed to helping find a way to end childhood cancer. Our organization has been lucky enough to be paired with four amazing families, The Baker Family, The Inch Family, The Zepp Family, and The Machemer Family! Our support is shown in a variety of ways including attending sporting events together, enjoying meals out together, and by getting to know siblings, parents, extended family, and friends of each of the families. They are all a part of our family and we are dedicated to fighting for them not just financially but also emotionally.
