Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Dimonds at Penn State Children's Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hoep around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
The Penn State Equestrian Team has proudly been a part of THON for over 10 years! During these 10 years we got to experience the beautiful impact that THON has for all of its four diamonds families. This year will be our 6th year with our THON family, The Smiths, who have shown us its time to raising money so that one day every child diagnosed with Pediatric Cancer will get to celebrate as they beat their battle just like Alex did! Please help us help others in the toughest fights of their lives.
Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON. This year, I am taking action by uniting with thousnads of other students and alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those who we have lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Throughout the year, I will. be fundraising to benefit THON in an effort to provide outstanding financial and emotional support and spread THON's Mission world-wide. It is my hope that one day, every child will have the opportunity to live our their dreams.
Meet Our Families!
Alex Smith:
Alex is 19 years old and is currently attending Penn State Mont Alto. She is studying to become a psychology major. Alex loves sports, espcially hockey and her favorite team is the Hershey Bears. Her favorite color is red and she loves to eat sushi.
Marissa:
Marissa is 12 years old and she is a big animaly lover but espcially likes cats and dogs. Her favorite colors are teal, lavender, and light pink. Marissa's family loves to watch marvel movies, go camping, and play games. Marissa also comptes at 4-H shows with her goat Coco!
Truex Family:
Tyler is 17 and likes to play soccer with his family.
