Make a difference in the life of a child.

Atlas is a special interest organization for THON. We are devoted to raising money for the Four Diamonds. The Four Diamonds provides for pediatric cancer research and patient care at Penn State's Hershey Children Hospital. Together we ensure that no parent sees a bill, no child fights alone, and we are banded together in the fight against pediatric cancer.

We were blessed with FIVE THON families since Atlas started in 2005, when we were paired with the Smith Family. Victoria Smith was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2005. Victoria and her family attended their first THON in 2006! She is now cancer free for 13 years!

In 2010, Atlas was paired with the Brobson family. Claire Brobson was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2007. She was the first Four Diamonds child to finish treatment during THON weekend in 2010. She is now 11 years cancer free!

In 2012, Atlas was paired with the Gerena Family. Amarie Gerena was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2009. She is now 12 years cancer free!

In 2015, Atlas was paired with the Norton family. Samir Norton was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2012. In 2020, Samir went back into treatment, and we are constantly fighting for him and his amazing family!

In 2018, Atlas was paired with the Garcia-Ramos family. Anthony Garcia-Ramos was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2018. He is now 2 years cancer free as of July!

We are so proud that all of our THON children are so strong! Please consider donating so that the families who are still struggling can continue to be provided support without the added stress of medical bills and so that one day a cure can be found.

Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THONTM. Our organization, Atlas, is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THONTM has raised over $190 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.

Atlas, is a Special Interest Organization at Penn State whose sole purpose is to support THON™ and our Four Diamonds Families. Throughout the year, Special Interest Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State Students by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to our families.
