Kaitlyn Wassel and Gillian Brooks (2022)

Join us on February 18, 2022

Make a difference in the life of a child.

Kaitlyn and Gillian are both seniors at Penn State raising money in pursuit of the cure!  THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world committed in the fight against childhood cancer.  Each February, THON's yearlong fundraising efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46 hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.  Kaitlyn and Gillian have registered as an Independent Dancer Couple (IDC), and they are raising money in hopes of having the opportunity to dance in THON 2022!   To achieve this dream of ours we need your help and support!
Gillian and Kaitlyn have both been extremely involved in THON throughout their time at Penn State. Gillian was a part of the Rules and Regulations Committee her freshman year, then the Hospitality Committee her sophomore and junior years.  Kaitlyn was on the Rules and Regulations Committee her sophomore year and junior year she was a security leader, and then this year she is a User-Experience Design Technology Captain.  Both are also in the Penn State Blue Band where Gillian is the Blue Sapphire feature twirler and Kaitlyn is on the Majorette Line. Through this they have had the opportunity to perform on the THON stage during the pep rally and at other events leading up to THON weekend.
The best memories we have experienced in THON have been the opportunity to meet the various THON families and children on the floor during the weekend and making their days brighter by helping in any way we can. After being very involved throughout our THON careers we decided the best way to end our senior year with THON is to raise money and try to Independently Dance!  To IDC we have to raise $2800 to be registered into the lottery, then every $700 extra dollars raised we get another lottery ticket.  The more tickets we have in the raffle the better chance we have of dancing in THON 2022! We will be working all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON Weekend 2022.  Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friends and family, obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.
We are doing this in hopes of helping children in need and giving hope to such a tough time.  Any donation can help! See below what your donation can do to help a child in need.

We thank you for all of your continued support!
