Make a difference in the life of a child.

Although THON will look a little different this year, the fight for a cure does not stop.

Our children are our future. Join us in our efforts to ensure kids have the opportunity to grow up and live a life full of adventure and opportunity. Brittany Brenhuber and Kate Mulvenon are joining with the Penn State community to support more than 4,000 families at Penn State Children’s Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer. Thanks to THON, Four Diamonds families rarely see a medical bill, allowing them to focus on their child’s health without the stress of financial burden. Our year-long fundraising efforts culminate in a 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon every year for our families. One day we will dance in celebration…until then we will dance for a cure.

Since 1977, THON has raised over $180 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone. THON creates unbreakable bounds between families and students all while fundraising for a cure.

Here are some statistics on how your donation to THON impacts the life of a child with cancer:

$750 = 1 routine maintenance visit for a child with leukemia

$2,250 = a private hospital room for a child and their family

$1,000 = One spinal tap procedure for a childhood cancer patient

$642 = The cost of one emergency room visit

$400 = One medical education doll used for play and teaching

$300 = One tube of antibodies to help with research experiments for a month

$1,500 = One day for a team of Specialized Nurse Coordinators to manage all patient needs.

$50 = 15 minutes of nutritional therapy for a child

$100 = One hour of psychological counseling, providing kids and families with the tools to communicate and heal

$25 = 1 hour of music therapy, which helps patients express themselves and participate in a fun and therapeutic experience

$300 for a child to get a wig so they can feel normal

We appreciate any donations and thank you for your generosity. You are truly making a huge difference in the life of a child.

As always, FTK®.

Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THONTM. Our IDC, Kate Mulvenon and Brittany Brenhuber, is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THONTM has raised over $180 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.
By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.

Kate Mulvenon and Brittany Brenhuber have been working tirelessly all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON Weekend 2021. Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friend and family, obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.
