For Dylan, For Emily, For The Queen!

Monarch FTK® was started late on April 30th, 2013, when a few friends on the 3rd floor of East's own McKean Hall decided that they wanted to get the most out of their experience at Penn State. Those boys returned to school in the fall to make Monarch happen. On September 16, 2013 the school officially recognized Monarch as a club within the University. Upon being notified of this, the original founders ran to the HUB to get the org recognized by THON, in which it quickly was. And yes, Queen Elizabeth II herself inspired the creation of this organization.
Monarch is now paired with two amazing Four Diamonds Families: the Keisters and Snyders. Our organization teamed up with the Keisters when it was created in 2013. Dylan Keister has now been in remission for 5 years! The families and Monarch get together fairly frequently, whether it's in their hometown or in State College.
Now, Monarch is a small organization, but a big family. It is a tight-knit group who wants to do all that can possibly be done to enhance the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Monarch was created from one passionate group of students devoted to the Queen turned their passion into a huge contribution, For The Kids®, and we could not be prouder.

Monarch is a Special Interest Organization at Penn State whose sole purpose is to support THON and our Four Diamonds Families. Throughout the year, Special Interest Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State Students by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to our families.
