Make a difference in the life of a child.
Penn State's THON is one of the largest student run organizations in the world. Each year, over 16,500 student volunteers unite to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THONTM has raised over $180 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital. Through our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure.
Each February, our yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon hosted in the Bryce Jordan Center. The weekend is a time for students and families to come together to celebrate life, honor those we've lost, share stories and memories, and ignite hope for the future. One day, we hope to dance in celebration. But until then, we will fight for a cure!! FTK®!!
Through our paring with the Men's Club Ultimate Frisbee team, we are blessed to be matched with the Cosentino Family. Celia is the silliest, funniest, and most kind-hearted girl you'll meet. She was diagnosed with a rate brain tumor in August 2018 at the age of 9.
Every gift donated to is put to great use. Your contribution will fund innovative research that will not only enhance treatment for children in Pennsylvania but is also giving hope to childhood cancer patients worldwide! Together, with every student, volunteer, alumnus, donor, and supporter, we can spread awareness of THON's mission across the country and throughout the world. With your support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the lives of children nationwide.
