Make a difference in the life of a child.
Axis is a Special Interest Organization at Penn State whose sole purpose is to support THON and our Four Diamonds Families. Throughout the year, Special Interest Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State Students by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to our families.
Axis aims to set the standard for hard work and persistence in the fight against pediatric cancer. With passion and dedication, our mission is to support the Calvanelli family, surpass our fundraising goals, and build lasting relationships - For The Kids® and for a cure!
Axis is luck enough to be paired with an amazing family that continues to show us the strength to keep fighting against pediatric cancer. Ayrton was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just two years old and immediately had brain surgery. He is now turning 12 during the THON 2021 year and continues to conquer the challenges brought upon him after suffering a stroke post-surgery. The remaining tumor is currently stable and he fights like a superhero every single day. With the support of his younger brother, Declan, his amazing parents, and Axis, Ayrton is unstoppable
Last year Axis raised just over $55,000, bringing our lifetime total to $398,000! We were allocated 5 dancers to represent our organization on the floor during THON Weekend!
This year, due to COVID 19, THON Weekend will be virtual! The THON Community and Axis are excited to adapt to this unprecedented time and remain committed to our mission that creates so much impact for the families impacted by childhood cancer. We need your help to continue to create the financial support that this cause deserves!
Thank you in advance!
