Stand with us in the fight against pediatric cancer for more smiles and a brighter tomorrow!
Every two minutes, a family has to hear the earth-shattering words that their child has cancer. All of the sudden their whole world changes and now revolves around hope and doing whatever it takes to fight for their child's life. Although outcomes and survival rates have improved, we still fight for a cure so no family or child ever has to hear these words ever again.
THONTM is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Each year, 16,500 student volunteers work tirelessly to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. This year, Paige and I are so excited to join this fight as an Independent Dancing Couple with the hopes of dancing in Thon 2020, the best 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon! During this weekend, we celebrate life, remember those loved ones who have passed, and stand together for hopes of a cure.
Since 1977, THONTM has raised over $168 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital. Throughout this time, THON has ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. The average cost for a child with cancer per day to stay in a hospital is $40,000- almost five times more than the cost of any other pediatric condition. With the beauty of coming together for a bigger purpose, THON's goal is to help eliminate the finanical burden on families while also providing much more support behind the scenes- so no family ever has to face cancer alone. While supporting families, THON also funds experiments at Penn State Children's Hospital to search for a cure. The cost for one experiment in search for a cure is $750, with each experiment getting us closer and closer.
As an Independent Dancing Couple, Paige and I set up our own fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds as well as awareness. With your support, we will obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon. Paige and I THON for our loved ones, for the kids, and mostly for a cure honoring those who have fought the fight and supporting those who are currently fighting it- please join us in standing up for this cause. We truly appreciate any support you can provide either by making a donation or by sharing this page on social media to spread THON's mission. Thank you in advanced for your help! For the kids!
