Make a difference in the life of a child.

Since freshman year at Penn State, THON has held a special place in our hearts. Each year, we grow more and more proud to be a part of such an incredible cause, which touches the lives of so many children and their families. In anticipation of our last year at THON, we aim to make a difference in an even bigger way. By engaging in fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friends and family, our hope is to earn a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.

Our desire to actively participate in the fight against pediatric cancer stems from a personal connection to the cause. In June of 2018, Annie’s cousin, Christian, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He was just 2 years old. With the help of multiple rounds of chemotherapy and various other treatments, our little fighter has made great strides against the disease. No longer does he spend his days in the hospital, but he is busy enjoying Pre-K and the company of his favorite cat, Joey!

Year after year, THON helps kids like Christian. As the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, THON has raised over $168 million for the Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Aiming to enhance the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer, our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research - all in pursuit of a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. Annie Paulik and Alex Pichi have been working tirelessly all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON Weekend 2020. Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friends and family, obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon.
