Make a difference in the life of a child.

The Lionettes Dance Team is one of many organizations that unites with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Our team works hard all year long to fundraise on behalf of THON, which is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Last year we set a fundraising record for our organization and we hope to maintain that success this year.  Our team also participates by performing at many THON related events including the THON 5K, Family Carnival, THON Hoops, and of course our THON weekend Pep Rally performance. This year we are excited to have three dancers represent our organization for this 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. THON 2020 cannot come soon enough!

Our dance team is fortunate to have two THON children, Ashley Fazekas and Shiloh Crimmel. Ashley is 15 years old and has been a THON child for the Lionettes for 13 years. She battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia, but we are happy to say she is now cancer free! Shiloh is 3 years old and was a new addition to our Lionettes family last year! She was also diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and has another year of treatment ahead. Their battles are far from over, but the resilience they  demonstrate on a daily basis is a constant inspiration to our entire team. We are so lucky to have these warriors as part of our dance family.

Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THONTM. Since 1977, THONTM has raised over $168 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,000 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure.
By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.

Dance Team (Lionettes) is a Penn State organization that participates in THON, in addition to our organization's primary purpose. Throughout the year, Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State students across all campuses by facilitating fundraisers, as well as providing emotional support to Four Diamonds Families.
