One Day We Will Dance In Celebration,
Until Then We Will Dance For A Cure.
What is THON?
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
This year, I am taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Throughout the year, I will be fundraising to benefit THON in an effort to provide outstanding financial and emotional support and spread THON’s mission worldwide. It is my hope that one day, every child will have the opportunity to live out their dreams.
What is Apollo?
I am a member of the Special Interest Organization Apollo, whose sole mission is to raise money for THON and provide support for our Four Diamonds Families while creating an enjoyable experience for all of our members. We're a group of friendly, down to earth people who are here to have fun and make friends but also fiercely support our families and a cause we passionately care about. Throughout the year, Apollo raises funds for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children’s Hospital through a variety of different fundraisers such as Food Truck Fiesta, Benefit Concert, Restaurant Fundraisers, and many more. We work together as an organization to raise money to provide both emotional and financial support to the families battling pediatric cancer.
Why Apollo THON’s
My organization, Apollo, is very proud to provide love and support to our Four Diamonds families, The Mummerts, The Sanchezes, The DelFrancos, and The Lynches. Our families will always remain at the heart of Apollo and we love spending time with them and bringing smiles to their faces!
For The Kids,
Every gift to THON provides hope in the fight. No matter the amount, the funds Apollo raises directly support children impacted by childhood cancer and the researchers who aim to cure it. Here are a few ways your contribution could help a child fighting pediatric cancer:
$25 funds one hour of music therapy
$60 funds one hour of Child Life Coverage
$150 funds one day of ongoing outpatient treatment
$300 provides one month of antibodies for cancer research
Special Interest Organizations play a key role in helping THON fulfill its mission of conquering childhood cancer. Apollo is a Special Interest Organization at Penn State whose sole purpose is to support THON and our Four Diamonds Families. Throughout the year, Special Interest Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State students by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to our families.
