Let's build a new chapter in the fight against cancer with #Building4THON!

In my nearly 27 years on Earth, I’ve had to be a cheerleader for loved ones fighting cancer more times than I would like, and I unfortunately can’t say that everyone I’ve cheered for has been victorious. On a happy note, three close friends have won their respective fights, one of them being my brother Kevin Smets, whom I fundraised in tribute to last year. On a mixed note, another friend is currently in the midst of their own cancer fight. On the saddest note however, I lost my father, John Regoli Jr. on January 24, 2018, after a 14-month battle against brain cancer. I still miss him to this day, but I didn’t forget his advice to pursue whatever in life made me happy, and I turned that advice into a platform to do something good…

In 2019, 2020 and 2021, I harnessed my dad’s memory, I used my love of pop cultural trivia and I collaborated with friends I made from that community to put on three annual Trivia4THON events! In the span of those three years, nearly 40 online trivia matches and debates within the worlds of movies, television, music, games, sports, and professional wrestling were recorded, edited, and uploaded to/live-streamed from multiple respective YouTube channels! Through those videos, we spread the good word of THON and the Four Diamonds Fund across the globe, raising an estimated combined total of $11,000 over the course of those three Trivia4THON events! I will forever be proud of what myself and my friends were able to accomplish with each Trivia4THON, and grateful for every ounce of help they gave me to make my brainchild a reality! I had the vision, but my friends did most of the hard work to make that vision possible, and I can’t thank them enough for it. That said, in the time since the last Trivia4THON event, my interests and creative vision as a THON fundraiser have changed. It’s time for me to build something new for THON, that something is called #Building4THON, and I’ll be using the world’s most recognizable brick to do it!

I have loved LEGO since I was a kid, and I wanted to do something For The Kids (#FTK) involving that universal love of LEGO! So starting on Tuesday, February 1 and concluding at the end of THON weekend, I will be live-streaming (at least) FIVE different LEGO builds on Twitch as I look to raise $3,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund!

  • Tuesday, February 1, 7 PM EST - The Eiffel Towel (LEGO Architecture)
  • Thursday, February 3, 7 PM EST - Big Ben (LEGO Architecture)
  • Tuesday, February 8, 7 PM EST - The Trevi Fountain (LEGO Architecture)
  • Thursday, February 10, 7 PM EST - Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger (LEGO Technic)
  • Friday, February 18, 6 PM EST to Sunday, February 20, 4 PM EST (THON Weekend) - The Colosseum (LEGO Creator Expert)

I will be starting off with smaller builds, and then finishing my fundraising efforts by building the LEGO Colosseum (which has the third highest piece-count of all LEGO products currently on the market) over the course of THON Weekend! There will be special guests popping in and out of that final build stream to keep me in the zone, and we’re gonna have a fun time as we bond over LEGO to do a good thing! Let's build a new chapter in the fight against cancer with #Building4THON! SEE YOU THERE!!!!!

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THONTM. This year, I am taking action by joining THON™ Nation and uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. THON's year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $180 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. THON's mission is to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
